1996 Calendar

During the course of this year, Mary Wilkinson moves to East Anglia to open a guest house and Sue Lodge breaks her ankle in the Lake District

3rd Queen Emma's Ale at Ducklington village hall. Queen Emma, they of the flattering purple & green knickerbockers.  At this Ale was also graced by the presence of Eynsham Morris, one member on whom had started dancing in 1946!  And was still doing it.
23rd St. Georges Day, The Greyhound at Milton Malsor.
1st Brackley May Day 6 sides (plus rain)
3rd - 5th 'Teesdale Thrash' at Barnard Castle. Only Cotswold side out of 22!
16th The Red Lion at Evenley. With Aynho Apricots
25th Braunston Boat Show.
30th Welford? Dance out?
4th The Bell at Lower Heyford, Oxfordshire  with Brackley and Eynsham.

Paul remembers: Good sing song in pub. Landlord eventually asked us to leave at well after closing time. We asked to finish our last song about cowboys (Yippee I Oh, Yipee I aye). He agreed, but at end of song he said we must now ride off into the sunset

Kevin remembers one dance to the tune of another, in front of other morris sides.
10th The Boat at Stoke Bruerne. with Old Mother Redcaps & Queens Oak
20th The Kings Arms at Farthingstone,  with Heyford Morris-joint dances
22nd Woad Works Day of Dance at Newport Pagnell. Including parade down High Street
Sue has note of evening ceilidh with Thirsty Work
29th Paragon Pit Day of Dance at Rugby,  with Paragon Pit, Great Central Clog and St. Albans Morris.
30th Soulden Hill House.
4th The Pepper Pot at Banbury. ROM Mascot Leaves.  Don Kench (ROM's self appointed  mascot) & Kevin's dearest friend (ditto), farewell dance (moving to Banbury) Viewed Don's new house.
10th The Old Red Lion at Litchborough  with Rose and Castle.
18th The Royal Oak at Eydon.

22nd Warmington Fete plus warm up at Cropready
31st AGM at the Royal Oak No charge in positions; (later written up as a fairy story)
